What a "new" year this is going to be!

Wow, what a year this is going to be.........

K & G's baby is due soon, they are 27 weeks or so now. It's a boy. What? A boy in our family? Mck & J are trudging along. M & I went to see them for a few days in Dec. Was so good seeing them. Too much social, family time for M, followed by Christmas & New Year's with C's parents here. But I have to say, she's much more social than years past!

Our little one is growing, our wonderful surrogate (surro) has had a great pregnancy so far. We are 14weeks, 1 day today! It still seems so surreal. We have a Dr appt in 2 weeks & C can come with us. He has not gotten to hear a heartbeat or see an actual sono. Will be a huge day for him. So far he's been the deposit maker, deposit some of his contribution, deposit a check, credit card for a deposit. I hate that for him. The words "intended parents" (IP) are coming true. Other surrogacy related terms intended mother (IM), intended father etc. Makes me wonder should there be intended sisters, grandparents etc. Nope, they are sister, grandparents. Just find the terminology to be odd.

Mck is struggling. Knowing their time to have babies won't come without a lot of work, stress etc. They aren't ready but many around her are having babies. A few she is excited about, a few she has reservations. Ours is one of the ones she is not happy about. I see how she is hurting & can feel her pain. I can imagine what a confusing, mind boggling thought this is for her. To quote her, "it should be her time". Yes it should even though they have said many times, even outside of J's leukemia, they had wanted to wait.
