Just after G got his orders to be transferred to VA, K discovered they were expecting baby #3! Wow, could we be more blessed? E was 3 1/2 yrs & A had just turned 2yr. What a great space.
During this time J had received orders to go to Afghanistan, Mck was devastated. Shortly, and I mean just very shortly after arriving there, J became ill & was flown back to Landstul Germany. This was the beginning of a very terrifying time for our family as J has since gone back to CA and diagnosed with AML, a form of Leukemia. He has now completed his induction chemo and has acquired remission and started consolidation chemo a week ago. This is difficult for us all, Mck is a strong woman but I am sure her mind often goes back to when we told her Dad had cancer. I pray everyday for their lives to be blessed.
C always has wanted a family and we have long talked of how we could make our dreams come true to expand our family further. Fast forwarding again, we have began a journey, a wonderful journey with Ch. She is a fantastic altruistic woman who will be our gestational surrogate. We fell in love with her the moment we met. I never imagined I could feel this way about another woman, I guess throughout our discussions and investigating I thought I would look at this relationship as more clinical. It is truely amazing.
Why go to such extremes for a baby? It will appear selfish to some. I have 3 fantastic daughters, each unique & special. C loves "his" girls deeply. So deeply that he wants more, I wanted to share the joy of a new life with him and surrogacy is our chosen route. My heart aches for Mck & J as we travel through our journey. Their lives are so unsure. Mck was in VA yesterday with K for her ultrasound that showed our reign of girls is going to be lessened. K & G are having a BOY! But on this joyous day, J needed a transfusion of platelets in CA. They are so strong and I deeply admire their strength. Mck is unhappy with me over our decision to expand our family but I can only pray that God placed us all here for a reason & guides our decisions.

Wow, where do I start? Or should it be how did we start?
We are a wonderfully blessed blended family that is growing everyday. I am married to C, who dove into our crazy life with both feet first and at times still appears shocked. After years of being single and growing up without siblings, he took on all of my wonderful girls just over a year ago. We bought a fantastic big house with room for all. A little short on bathrooms for this many girls, but we make it work.
I have 3 daughters. K is married to G & they have 2 daughters of their own E & A. Mck is married to J and M is a freshman in high school. The men in our lives take our craziness in stride. They are all 3 wonderful strong husbands and I feel blessed by each of their places in our lives.
Life hasn't always been this easy. A few years ago we said good bye to Mck & M's dad when he was 38 from a very rare form of colon cancer. Our lives were changed forever. E had been born just a year previous and K had just found out she was pregnant with A. I'm not sure we ever told him K was expecting again. He loved babies so very much. A few months later Mck graduated high school and began cosmetology school just as she had dreamed & told her daddy she would. A came into our lives that summer & our lives continued. Throughout this time, our sides were never left by C, our wonderful friend. Fast forward, C & I married with our girls and G at our sides. Mck had met J by this time and met us during our crazy weekend of a wedding at our home. Soon after Mck spread her wings, moved to CA to be near her sister, nieces & J. Fast forward again, Mck & J are married and still living in CA as K&G are transferred to VA. Oh my, now I have children on both coasts & one in between!
That's us, a crazy family of girls with our wonderful husbands thrown in the mix. A house with too few bathrooms and more love than imaginable
